Your private ADELAIDE HILLS WINE tour ITINERARY

1   off to the Adelaide Hills

Exploring Adelaide Hills wineries

Your host will meet you at your city accommodation where your journey will begin. All of our local guides are trained wine experts who will also help you unlock the secrets of the Adelaide Hills.
Your journey will take you East, snaking your way along the stunning Hills ridgeline and through Cleland Conservation Park to your first destination.

2   Mt Lofty Scenic Lookout

Views over Adelaide from Mt Lofty Summit

The expansive views from Mt Lofty across Adelaide City and out to the sea are, quite frankly, breathtaking. You’ll also catch a glimpse of the Piccadilly Valley from the East viewpoint, and have a close encounter with the local wildlife if you’re really lucky!

3   deviation rd winery

Sparkling wine flight at Deviation Rd Winery

Known around Australia for producing some of the best Spakling Whites around, Deviation Rd is run by a husband and wife duo. Enjoy a flight of their famous Spakling wines in their quaint and cosy cellar door, or opt for a seasonal selection of their still wines, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz.

4   tapanappa wines

Views of the vineyard from the tasting room at Tapanappa

Located in the original vineyard planted by Brian Croser in the 70s, Tapanappa is the birthplace of wine in the Adelaide Hills. Having pioneered other wine regions further south, you’ll be able to try a wide range of cool climate wines from Sparkling, to Chardonnay and Pinot, and even Cabernet blends. With wines from his son-in-law also available for tasting, you could also opt for a lighter, fresher side of the HIlls.

5   stanley bridge tavern

Enjoyign a drink on the main street of Hahndorf

What seems like a run down pub on the side of the road in a sleepy Hills village opens up inside to be one of the best hidden gems that even Adelaide locals have yet to wise up to! Run by a formidable duo in the Adelaide wine trade, this pub has an extensive wine list sourced from around the world, and we’re yet to be disappointed by any thing the kitchen turns out.

6   Shaw + Smith

Wine tasting at Shaw + Smith in the Adeliade Hills

Over the last 20 years, Shaw + Smith have grown and evolved to become one of the Hills most formidable wine brands. They now produce a range of world-class clool-climate wines from the Hills and further abroad. Seated in their glass walled tasting room or out on the sun deck, your host will guide you through a carefully selected range of their wines, matched with locally sourced cheeses.

After your full day of scenic winetasting, we’ll have you safely back in Adelaide for around 5:00pm.
